Meryl Streep celebrated the 15-year anniversary of "The Devil Wears Prada" on Monday and revealed why she quit method acting.

During a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, the 71-year-old Oscar-winning actress, who portrayed Miranda Priestly in the movie, noted that it was a "horrible" experience.

"I was [miserable] in my trailer," she said. "I could hear them all rocking and laughing. I was so depressed! I said, 'Well, it's the price you pay for being boss!' That's the last time I ever attempted a Method thing!"

The movie also stars Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Adrian Grenier, Simon Baker, Gisele Bündchen and Tracie Thoms in key roles.

Hathaway, who portrayed Andrea Sachs in the comedy-drama, chimed in and noted that she felt "intimidated" by Streep during the filming.

"The Dark Knight Rises" star added that she "always felt cared for. I knew that whatever she was doing to create that fear, I appreciated [because] I also knew she was watching out for me."

The actress went on to explain a scene with Streep, "There's this scene where [she says], "You're just as disappointing as the rest of those silly girls." I remember when the camera turned on me, the pressure really got to me, and I'd had such emotional fluidity in the day up to that point, but it just wasn't there anymore."

"I remember having the experience of watching [her] watch me, and [she] altered [her] performance ever so slightly, and just made it a little bit different, and brought more out of me and got me to break through whatever barrier I had," she added.

Streep was last seen in the Netflix musical comedy "The Prom," which was released on Dec. 2, 2020. The movie was helmed by Ryan Murphy and had Jo Ellen Pellman, James Corden, Nicole Kidman and Kerry Washington in key roles.

She was also seen in a comedy-drama, "Let Them All Talk," directed by Steven Soderbergh. The movie was released on Dec. 10 last year.

Her upcoming project includes a black comedy, titled "Don't Look Up," which will star Ariana Grande, Timothée Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Evans and Matthew Perry.
