Isana thinks of Mizuto as her dear friend because of their mutual liking for light novels, according to the official synopsis of "My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex" Episode 7.

Yume and Akatsuki guide Isana and make her realize her love for Mizuto.

Isana announces that she wants to do something that Mizuto and the rest of the gang can't do. Meanwhile, Yume and Akatsuki give her a piece of advice to make Mizuto notice her.

Apart from the synopsis, the makers have also released a trailer for the upcoming episode. The promo shows Isana and Mizuto meeting at a library as they talk about light novels. Akatsuki and Yume can be seen spying on them.

In the previous episode, titled "The Former Couple Goes Head-to-Head," the first midterm exams were about to begin. Yume, who was once the top scoring student in the academy's entrance exam, was eyeing to defend her place as the model student.

However, she was upset that Mizuto was relaxed before the exams.

"A boy and a girl started dating in middle school. They were lovey-dovey at first, but due to a misunderstanding over something trivial, they started feeling more frustration than excitement... In the end, they broke up when they graduated. However, Mizuto Irido and Yume Ayai meet again in a surprising way before they start high school," reads the official synopsis of "My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex," as per Crunchyroll.

The anime, titled "Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Moto Kano Datta" in Japanese, is based on a light novel series written by Kyousuke Kamishiro and illustrated by Takayaki. The series is directed by Shinsuke Yanagi and the series composition is by Deko Akao.

"My Stepmom's Daughter Is My Ex" Episode 7 is airing Wednesday. Fans in the U.S. can watch the episode online on Crunchyroll. It will live stream in Japanese with English subtitles.
