Iced Tea is a non-alcoholic drink that is consumed in many ways -- sweetened or unsweetened, with or without lemon, and leaves a unique tingling aftertaste that its fans swear by.

While buying the aerated bottled versions seem more viable, it’s smarter to make them at home because, well, it’s healthier and can be infused with your own choice of flavors.

National Iced Tea Day is observed on June 10 every year to encourage people to sample some sparkling iced teas that work as a natural coolant and help beat the summertime heat effects in the body. On this occasion, brew yourself some sassy iced tea to quench your thirst rather than cracking open a bottle of wine.

History of Iced Tea:

Iced tea, the classic beverage was first originated in 1904 and its creator was English tea plantation owner Richard Blechynden. During a sweltering summer day in that year, Blechynden had set up a stall for the visitors to sip some high-end hot teas but the thirsty visitors were craving something cold. A quick-thinking Blechynden dumped some ice into the teas and served it chilled, only to see it become an instant hit among the visitors.

However, it remains unclear when the National Iced Tea Day actually originated.
