National Peanut Butter Day, which is observed every Jan. 24, celebrates the delicious treat that has become a staple in many people's homes. What better way to celebrate it than to indulge in delicious peanut butter recipes?

Several people are credited for developing the processes that led to the peanut butter we know and enjoy today, but early versions of this tasty concoction have actually been around as far back as 1,000 B.C. among the Incas and Aztecs.

Today, peanut butter is loved by people all over the world, and it has even become a staple in American pantries. In fact, it has become such a key part of people's everyday lives that many have strong peanut butter preferences.

In a National Today Survey of 1,000 people, 72% said they prefer smooth peanut butter instead of the chunky variety, with men being more likely to pick chunky peanut butter than women. People also have their own favorite peanut butter brands, but Jif, Skippy and Peter Pan are the top three, respectively.

On this day, one of the best ways to celebrate would be to enjoy peanut butter. Although that could be as simple as enjoying a peanut butter sandwich, one could also explore some other delicious recipes that use this food as an ingredient. Who knows?
