The new iPad from Apple is following the footsteps of the iPad 2 to become the champion in tablet gaming. Due to the device’s Quad Core GPU and 2048x1536 pixels resolution HD Retina display, games on this beast of a tablet will have graphics never before seen on a tablet. Apple’s Mac OS X platform might not be getting the attention it deserves from game developers, but the iOS platform is, and Apple is pulling out all the ammunition to make sure the support continues.

Because the new iPad, is well, new, there’s currently no game available to take advantage of what the new display has to offer, and the new GPU processing power, but that is about to change. We are going to talk about 5 games that are on the verge of being optimized for the new iPad, and if you think these games look insanely awesome already on the iPad 2, wait till you see them on the new tablet.

Mass Effect Infiltrator

If you’re a gamer and not just a person who plays games on tablets, you would have definitely heard of the Mass Effect series before. The Mass Effect games are one of the best known games in the gaming industry, mainly due to its great story telling and the iconic Commander Shepard. EA Games took the time out to create a spin off for the iPad 2 called Mass Effect Infiltrator. The game which was released on March 6, has been in the top ten games on the App Store regularly on a daily basis.

EA Games confirmed that an optimized version will be released soon after the new iPad goes on sale.

Infinity Blade Dungeons

One of the most anticipated games of the year for the iPad 2 and new iPad is Infinity Blade Dungeons. The new iPad version, according to Epic Games, will be optimized to support the higher screen resolution and GPU. The developer even went on to state that the new iPad has more RAM and supports larger screen resolution than of the Xbox 360 and PS3. Infinity Blade Dungeons will be out on March 16.

Sky Gamblers Air Supremacy

Namco Bandai’s newest flight SIM is flying its way straight to the new iPad, and the developer promises to make sure the game is fully optimized for the new specs. Expect to see some draw dropping visuals from this game, visuals to rival the PS Vita.

Real Racing 2

Love Real Racing 2? You’ll love it even more when EA Games gets down to work and releases an optimized new iPad version. This game is one of the few games on the iPad 2 that looks extremely gorgeous. We’re glad to see EA Games planning to bring it over to the new iPad.

Diamond Dash

Diamond Dash is the most popular social arcade game in the world where players have 60 seconds to explode as many gems as possible. You can compete against friends, send lives and keep a track of your progress wherever you are making for a truly social game experience. The game is being optimized by the developer to make full use of the new iPad hardware features. We can’t wait to see how it looks.

Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft need to worry because Apple is not slowing down. The company is aiming to become the leader in gaming, and before you know it, Apple might one day announce a standalone gaming console to take on the big boys.
