Nicolas Cage has expressed his interest in appearing in Robert Pattinson's "Batman" universe, and he already has a specific role in mind — that of Egghead. In fact, he already has a "concept" for the said character.

"Here's something, I've been thinking about this, because we have this new, Robert Pattinson as the Batman, which I haven't seen it yet, but I think he would be terrific, the villain that Vincent Price played on the 60s show, Egghead," Cage told FOX 7 Austin during the SXSW 2022 event Monday.

"I think I want to have a go at Egghead," the 58-year-old actor said. "I think I could make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros. I'm down for Egghead."

Egghead first appeared in the "Batman" TV series episode titled "An Egg Grows in Gotham" in 1967. He was obsessed with eggs and thought of himself as a mastermind, according to Screenrant. Back then, the character was played by actor Vincent Price, who died in 1993. The fictional character's original name was Edgar Heed and he was popularly known for being a genius.

The character also appeared in DC's animated comics "Batman: The Brave and the Bold," which came out in 2008. The series ran on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2011.

Though the character hasn't been used many times in DC comics or movies, it will be interesting for fans to watch Cage playing the obscure villain.

On the work front, Cage is currently filming the fantasy adventure movie "Renfield," in which he will be playing Dracula's character. The flick also stars Awkwafina, Ben Schwartz, Nicholas Hoult, Bess Rous and Adrian Martinez.

He will also lend his voice to Lord Highfire's character in an untitled Amazon Studios Project. The actor will also appear in movies like "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent," "The Retirement Plan," "The Old Way" and "Butcher's Crossing."

On the personal front, the actor tied the knot with Riko Shibata in February last year. Previously, he was married to make-up artist Erika Koike for a year in 2019. He was also married to actress Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016.

Prior to that, Cage got married to singer Lisa Marie Presley. They got divorced in 2004 after two years of marriage. The actor was first married to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001.
