Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama celebrated rtheir 30th wedding anniversary publicly with social media posts on Monday.

The Obamas shared the same three photos on their Instagram pages, including one of the former president laying his head on his wife's shoulder, another of their names written inside a heart on the sand, and a black and white picture of the young couple on their wedding day.

"Miche, after 30 years, I'm not sure why you look exactly the same, and I don't. I do know that I won the lottery that day—that I couldn't have asked for a better life partner. Happy anniversary, sweetheart!" the 44th president captioned the photo.

"Happy anniversary to the man I love! These last 30 years have been an adventure, and I'm grateful to have you by my side. Here's to a lifetime together. I love you, @BarackObama!" she wrote on her Instragram page.

Michelle and Barack Obama married in 1992 after three years of dating. The two met while working at the same Chicago law firm.

"I remember being struck by how tall and beautiful she was," Barack Obama told O, The Oprah Magazine in 2007. "I asked her out. She refused. I kept asking. She kept refusing."

Eventually, "she relented," and the pair went on their first date.

"On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate," the former president recalled.

Two years later, they were engaged and married on Oct. 3, 1992, at Trinity United Church of Christ.

The Obamas have two daughters, Malia, 24, and Sasha, 21.
