  • The upcoming chapter is anticipated to drop on Oct. 25
  • Raizo of the Mist surprised the fandom with his amazing technique but it also raised some questions

“One Piece” Chapter 992 showcased the exciting fight between Oden’s retainers and the Beast Pirates’ captain. While all Akazaya Nine members fought valiantly to defeat Kaido, it is safe to say that Raizo’s defensive-offensive attack really caught the fandom’s attention. This also makes many fans wonder if the technique he used when he fought Kaido is a Ninjutsu skill of one of his Devil Fruit’s abilities.

In “One Piece” Chapter 992, Raizo of the Mist was among the other Red Scabbards fighting Kaido on the roof of Skull Dome. Seemingly overwhelmed by the incessant attacks of the scabbards, Kaido let out Boro Breath. Raizo of the Mist used his ninja scroll and absorbed the Boro Breath attack; after that, he wrapped himself around Kaido and released the Boro Breath using Makimaki no Jutsu.

Several “One Piece” fans believed that the Makimaki no Jutsu is a devil fruit ability. In the previous installments of the manga, it was mentioned that Raizo has a devil fruit. He also said at one point in “One Piece” that his scrolls have the ability to seal and release anything.

Shinobu, a kunoichi, used to say that her jutsu allows her to make everything she touches rot or mature. It turned out that it is not a jutsu but a devil fruit ability. Interestingly, the “One Piece” Wiki has a good explanation about this impressive technique that Raizo showcased in “One Piece” Chapter 992.

According to the blog, the reserved ninja ate the Maki Maki no Mi, which is a Paramecia-type of Devil Fruit. This enables Raizo not only to create but also to manipulate scrolls. Additionally, the blog claims that these scrolls can increase in size and can unroll as the ninja’s will.

The Maki Maki no Mi also allows Raizo to perform his technique against Kaido in “One Piece” Chapter 992. It is possible that Oden’s retainer simply referred to this as a jutsu since he is not aware of Devil Fruits, the blog explained.

“One Piece” Chapter 993 is anticipated to drop on schedule. The upcoming installment of the manga should arrive on Oct. 25.
