Release Date

Ghost Town Games’ new cooking simulation game, “Overcooked: Special Edition,” is scheduled for release on the Switch console this coming Thursday, July 27. It is hitting Nintendo’s newest gaming machine almost a year since the original “Overcooked” game was released on Aug. 2, 2016.

Pricing

For fans who are interested in buying “Overcooked: Special Edition,” they should know that the game is coming to the U.S. with a $19.99 price tag. In the eurozone, it is priced at €19.99, while in the United Kingdom it is valued at £15.99, according to Nintendo Everything.

Features

“Overcooked: Special Edition” does not have the word “special” in its title for no apparent reason. This installment is really special, for it comes with a lot of features. First of all, aside from the base game, this also includes The Lost Morsel and Festive Seasoning DLC. It has 44 campaign levels that can be played solo or couch co-op with up to 4 players.

In this game, players will go through 9 versus levels that locally pit 2 or 4 players against each other. Players will also like the fact that they have different chefs they can play as in this game. They have 22 options to choose from including a human chef, a raccoon, a dinosaur, a robot and many, many more.

As expected, the game will feature a huge range of crazy kitchens that will serve as the venue of the matches. Included in these kitchens are the different recipes players should master, such as burritos, fish & chips, soup and more.

“Overcooked: Special Edition” for the Nintendo Switch’s HD rumble support is what sets it apart from other versions. With this, Switch players will be able to enjoy the game and feel some sensation from their Joy-Con oontrollers when they chop up the wrong food item, Polygon pointed out.

Official Description

“Get ready for the ultimate arcade-style couch cook-off in ‘Overcooked: Special Edition’ for Nintendo Switch,” the game’s official description quoted by Nintendo Life reads. “Journey through a variety of cruel and unusual kitchens on a quest to become master chefs capable of conquering an ancient edible evil which plagues the land. Play solo or engage in classic, chaotic couch co-op for up to four players in both co-operative and competitive challenge modes.”

“Overcooked: Special Edition” is coming to the Nintendo Switch on July 27. The game was released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platform last year.
