  • Kevin Cronin spoke about his "Ozark" cameo
  • His chidlren asked him to join the show
  • The singer and his family were happy to see his name in the episode title

Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon had a cameo in “Ozark” Season 3. In a recent interview, the singer explained how he went about deciding whether to appear on the show. The rock band played an important role on the show by being a part of Byrde family money laundering operation.

In an interview with Page Six, Cronin revealed that he always takes his children’s suggestion when it comes to deciding if something is “cool to do or not.” The singer’s 23-year-old daughter and 20-year-old twin sons are apparently fans of the TV series and they told their dad to agree to the cameo because it is an “awesome” show.

The cameo involves REO Speedwagon being hired to perform. The rock band also gets a chance to launder some money on the show with the sales of their merchandise.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cronin revealed that he was reluctant to join the show at first. All the other characters on the show were fictional while he was going to play himself in “Ozark.”

When Cronin first got the offer to be a part of the show, he thought it would be about his band playing some music on a riverboat in the lake, which is how most rockband cameos are. However, when he read the script he found out that it would be about him laundering money. The singer watched the first two seasons of the show and got the feedback from his children before agreeing to join the TV series.

Episode 3 that has the cameo scene is named after Cronin. The singer never expected this to be the actual title while filming. He thought this was a working title that would be changed later.

Cronin pointed out that he is used to seeing the name REO Speedwagon all the time, but he rarely gets to see his name being used in this way. So, when his family sat down to watch the show and saw they retained the title “Kevin Cronin Was Here,” the singer admitted that “it was a kick.”

“Ozark” hasn’t been renewed for Season 4 yet, IGN reported. The announcement about the show’s renewal will be made in the coming months.

Ozark
12. "Ozark" Season 3 (Netflix) - “Ozark” is one of those shows that get better with each passing season. The first season was a decent crime-drama with engaging characters while the darker tone of the second installment made the show even more interesting. However, the series finds its true potential with the latest season that is filled with many jaw-dropping moments and mind-boggling plot-twists. Driven by an amazing performance by Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, the show continues to prove why it is one of the best shows on Netflix.  Ozark/Facebook
