A teacher in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged Tuesday for having sex with a 16-year-old high school student.

The accused, identified as Zachary Dice, was a teacher at Lafayette Elementary school. He reportedly met three high school girl students while he was helping them with activities at school. He then sent explicit photos to all the three students.

“It started off as a friendship. He was their instructor, he was their teacher. But it led into a friendship that led to an exchange of phone numbers, pictures,” Uniontown Police Lt. Tom Kolencik’s said. The accused then went on to have sex with one of the students inside the school premises.

“There was physical contact multiple times inside the school,” Dice told the investigators.

Meanwhile, calling Dice “a predator,” Kolencik said the accused had a degree in child psychology and that he was exploiting the immaturity of the students for his own benefit. Additional information regarding how the incident came to light and who filed a police case was not known.

The incident comes less than a month after a New Jersey school teacher was arrested for sexually assaulting two students. Carlos A. Franco-Leon sexually assaulted two minor female students "on various occasions between 2015 and 2019” and also exchanged graphic text messages with one of them on Snapchat.
