'Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels' Episode 3 Preview: Lewis Interrogates Caltech Student

The murder investigation will continue in “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels” episode 3. A preview video has been released online that shows Lewis Michener (Nathan Lane) conducting an investigation while recent events affect the politicians in the city.

According to the official plot synopsis of the next episode, Tiago (Daniel Zovatto) and Molly (Kerry Bishé) will try to escape their “complicated lives.” Councilman Charlton Townsend (Michael Gladis) and Alex (Natalie Dormer) have their own agenda, and their plans will be jeopardized by a councilwoman.

Peter Craft (Rory Kinnear) will discover a “dark truth” about Elsa’s home, according to the plot synopsis. The other storyline in the next episode will be about Mateo (Johnathan Nieves) visiting a Chicano dance hall.

A preview video has been released online that shows Lewis investigating a murder. After discovering bullets in what was supposed to be a car crash, the character can be seen saying in the video to ignore the bullets.

Some of the characters will make a bold move and attempt to assassinate a member of the city hall in “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels” episode 3. There will also be some exciting action sequences to look forward to. “We are everything they fear. We make Los Angeles bleed,” Magda says in the preview video.

One character to watch on the show is Sister Molly. The character’s work is inspired by Sister Aimee Semple McPherson, who became a celebrity in the 1920s and '30s, Screen Rant reported. Sister Aimee is known for founding the Foursquare Church and she was one of the pioneers in using media like radio that attracted large crowds.

The TV series is making a name for itself with rich characters and scenes on the show that have a connection to real life past events. The premier episode featured a bloody scene that is actually a reference to the 1943 Zoot Suit Riot in Los Angeles, California, Screen Rant reported. The scene involved protests after the city plans to displace hundreds of Mexican-Americans, and Magda intensified the emotions on both sides by whispering in their ears to make them fight each other.

“Penny Dreadful: City of Angels” episode 3 is titled “Wicked Old World.” It will air on May 10 at 10 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
