Brazilian oil company Petroleo Brasileiro officials announced today the company located and contained a small gas leak on one of its offshore drilling rigs.

The leak was minimal and was quickly contained Friday. Company officials say there is no risk of fire or explosion, reported the Associated Press.

This recent leak comes at a time when offshore drilling in Brazil is under increased scrutiny following a leak at one of Chevron's platforms.

It is still unclear how much gas leaked from the P-40 platform which is located in the Marlim Sul field of the Bacias Basin, near Rio De Janeiro.
