In an explosive interview with CNN anchor Poppy Harlow on Tuesday, Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore’s representative, Janet Porter, continuously brought up Harlow’s unborn child to defend the Moore against allegations of child molestation and sexual misconduct.

In order to draw the attention away from the allegations against Moore, Porter brought up the topic of abortion and said Alabama voters should pick Moore over Democrat Doug Jones because Jones wants to support killing them [babies] until the moment of birth." The interview was part of Tuesday’s edition of "New Day."

In the video of the interview, Porter can be heard saying, “Congratulations on your unborn child. That’s the reason I came down as a volunteer to speak for Judge Roy Moore because he stands for the rights of babies like yours in the womb, where his opponent will support killing them until the moment of birth,” she said.

At first Harlow seemed genuinely thankful for Porter’s wishes and said, “Thank you for being with us and I appreciate the congratulations on our son on the way.”

But, later in the interview when Porter defended Moore against child abuse allegations by saying that his Democratic opponent would support taking the life of Harlow's 8-month old baby, Harlow lost her cool.

"If you care about child abuse you should be talking about the fact that Judge Roy Moore stands for protection, not only of our Second Amendment rights so we can protect ourselves against predators, for the rights of babies like your 8-month baby that you're carrying now. Doug Jones says you can take the life of that baby and we should pay for it …," she said, to which a visibly angry Harlow replied calmly but firmly, “Let's leave my child out of this.”

But even Harlow’s stern response did not stop Porter as she went on to say that, “It's really the children of Alabama that we are talking about and the Alabamians understand that if we are talking about what's at stake here, we're talking about fake allegations, concocted stories about an innocent man versus real threat of child abuse not only in the womb but also in the locker room."

The interview came in the wake of President Donald Trump’s endorsement of Moore, who is currently facing multiple accusations of sexual misconduct, including sexual assault as well as dating teenagers when he was twice their age. During the interaction, Porter also called some of the women who came forward as “non-accusers” and suggested that some of the accusers were nothing but Democratic operatives who wanted to seek revenge against Moore.

Porter’s comments did not sit well with users on Twitter as well, who bashed Porter for her insensitivity and lauded Harlow for her handling of the situation.

A user named Patrick Zarrelli wrote, “Jane Porter is the most shameful human I have seen on TV in awhile @CNN. Nice job skewering her like a pro @PoppyHarlowCNN.”

Another Twitter user Sonja Cox tweeted saying, “Roy Moore spokesperson Jane Porter to Poppy Harlow on CNN about her unborn child just now - one of the more vile things I’ve ever seen.”
