Gainers

Apollo Group Inc. (APOL) stock grew 6.16 percent to $46 in the pre-market trading. Adjusted earnings from continuing operations for the fourth quarter was $139.6 million or $1.02 per share, down from $193.9 million or $1.31 per share last year. Revenue fell 10.9 percent to $1.12 billion due to lower enrollments at University of Phoenix partially offset by selective tuition price and other fee changes and improving rates of student retention. Analysts had expected profit of $0.94 per share on revenue of $1.10 billion. For the fiscal 2012, the company expects adjusted operating profit of $655 million to $780 million and revenue of $4.1 billion to $4.3 billion, while Street predicts revenue of $3.25 billion.

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (ISRG) stock grew 6.07 percent to $406 in the pre-market trading. Profit for the third quarter was $122 million or $3.05 per share, up from $87 million or $2.14 per share last year. Revenue grew 30 percent to $447 million. Analysts had expected profit of $2.76 per share on revenue of $418.02 million.

Golar LNG Ltd. (GLNG) stock gained 4.13 percent to $37.80 in the pre-market trading.

Yahoo Inc. (YHOO) stock rose 3.94 percent to $16.08 in the pre-market trading. Profit for the third quarter was $293.3 million or $0.23 per share, down from $396.1 million or $0.29 per share last year. Adjusted earnings grew 32 percent to $0.21 per share. Revenue fell 24 percent to $1.217 billion, while revenue excluding traffic acquisition costs decreased 5 percent to $1.072 billion. Analysts had expected profit of $0.17 per share on revenue of $1.07 billion. For the fourth quarter, the company expects revenue of $1.275 billion to $1.395 billion and revenue excluding traffic acquisition costs of $1.125 billion to $1.235 billion, while Street predicts $1.22 billion.

Intel Corp. (INTC) stock increased 3.89 percent to $24.31 in the pre-market trading. Profit for the third quarter was $3.47 billion or $0.65 per share, up from $2.96 billion or $0.52 per share last year. Adjusted earnings were $3.67 billion or $0.69 per share. Revenue grew to $14.23 billion from $11.10 billion. Analysts had expected profit of $0.61 per share on revenue of $13.90 billion. For the fourth quarter, the company expects revenue of $14.7 billion, plus or minus $500 million, while Street predicts $14.3 billion.

Losers

ON Semiconductor Corp. (ONNN) stock tumbled 5.71 percent to $7.60 in the pre-market trading. The company provided an update of the impact to its business due to continued flooding in Thailand. The company believes the flood will negatively impact revenues and earnings for a minimum of three to four quarters beginning in the fourth quarter of 2011. For the fourth quarter, ON Semiconductor now expects an impairment charge of about $50 million to $65 million associated with the assets located at its Rojana Industrial Park facility including inventory, fixed assets and other assets.

The company has confirmed that there remain no on-site injuries to ON Semiconductor employees in Thailand as a result of the flooding. The company believes that its SANYO Semiconductor division's Thailand operations, including buildings and equipment, located at the Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya, Thailand have been severely damaged by the flood. Operations at this location remain suspended. The company is working on options to meet its customers' production needs by shifting production to other facilities within and outside its global ON Semiconductor manufacturing network.

Cree Inc. (CREE) stock fell 5.22 percent to $26.33 in the pre-market trading. Adjusted profit for the first quarter was $28.1 million or $0.25 per share, down from $66.3 million or $0.60 per share last year. Revenue rose marginally to $269 million from $268.4 million. Analysts had expected profit of $0.26 per share on revenue of $268.7 million. Looking ahead into the second quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings of $0.25 to $0.28 per share and revenue of $300 million to $320 million, while Street predicts profit of $0.34 per share on revenue of $310.70 million.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) stock slid 5.03 percent to $400.99 in the pre-market trading. Profit for the fourth quarter was $6.62 billion or $7.05 per share, up from $4.31 billion or $4.64 per share last year. Revenue grew to $28.27 billion from $20.34 billion. Analysts had expected profit of $7.38 per share on revenue of $29.69 billion. Looking ahead into the first quarter, Apple anticipates earnings of about $9.30 per share and revenue of about $37 billion, while analysts predict $9.00 per share on revenue of $36.72 billion.

LM Ericsson Telephone Co. (ERIC) stock declined 4.13 percent to $9.97 in the pre-market trading.

TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (TQNT) stock decreased 3.27 percent to $7.11 in the pre-market trading.
