Fans of “Mortal Kombat X” have known for quite some time that Predator, the legendary movie monster, will be coming to the game soon, so publisher Warner Bros. finally revealing the character’s release date was only a matter of time. Predator will finally be available Tuesday through downloadable content (DLC) in the “Mortal Kombat X Predator Bundle,” which features the character and new skins for Johnny, Scorpion and Jax.

Prior to the official announcement, GameSpot reported on various leaks about the Predator DLC, including the character’s fatality and victory pose, so it seems like Warner Bros. and developer NetherRealms have finished working on the character.

Predator isn’t the only film star in the game however, as Jason Vorhees is also one of the playable characters in “Mortal Kombat X.” It seems that both characters were added after Freddy Kreuger from the “Nightmare of Elm Street” films was a DLC character for the “Mortal Kombat” reboot in last-generation consoles, whose inclusion proved to be a popular decision with fans.

Adding to the theme of the “Predator” films are the skins for Johnny, Scorpion and Jax, as each skin is based on a movie in which Predator has appeared. According to Coming Soon, Johnny will be in a Commando uniform, Scorpion will have an infrared suit and Jax will have a Carl Weathers skin -- all appropriate for some Predator killing in the game.

While Predator will be part of paid DLC, Warner Bros. has decided to give fans a special gift, as the company has announced a “Klassic Fatality Pack,” which includes four “classic” fatalities for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya and Johnny Cage. This DLC pack will be free to download for anyone with a copy of the game.

The “Predator Bundle” is available Tuesday to those who bought the $30 “Kombat Pack.” For those who wish to purchase the “Predator Bundle” separately, it will be available July 14 for $7.99.
