Happy “PLL” Day! After a couple months off the air, “Pretty Little Liars” returns to ABC Family for its highly anticipated Season 6 premiere. Fans will be reunited with Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Mona (Janel Parrish) – but unfortunately it’s not under better circumstances.

When Season 5 left off, Mona was believed to be dead and the Liars were arrested in connection with her death. However, “A” managed to get his hands on the girls on their way to prison and bring them to his “dollhouse.” The police had no idea that the girls were kidnapped, and instead believed that they had made an escape on their own.

The good news? Toby (Keegan Allen), Ezra (Ian Harding) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) were on their side and doing everything in their power to track them down. The bad news? “A” had a good hiding spot. Their tormentor had created a giant doll house in the middle of nowhere with rooms replicated to look like the bedrooms of the Liars.

While imprisoned in “A’s” dollhouse, the Liars discovered the Mona was actually alive – although slightly different. Mona now had blonde hair, was wearing Alison’s (Sasha Pieterse) yellow shirt … and believed her name was Alison. However, Mona came clean to the girls when the power briefly shut down. Her transformation was all part of “A’s” games, and she called herself Alison in order to avoid getting on “A’s” bad side. “A” was watching them and they needed to play along as well.

But “A” had a specific game he wanted the Liars to play – prom! Although the five girls were the only ones trapped, “A” wanted them to throw a prom. The girls decided to play along, but Spencer’s mind was working hard on figuring out a way for them to escape. She managed to figure out a name that could be connected to “A” – Charles. But she couldn’t place the name. However, she was able to hatch a plan to shut off the power in order for them to break out of their prison.

The plan worked and “A” was caught off guard by the power outage. With this new advantage, the Liars made a run for it – but Spencer had to investigate something first. She made her way to another room in the dollhouse that was previously off limits to them. Inside she discovered a projector. When she played the film on it she discovered that Alison’s mom had twin boys.

With time running out, Spencer didn’t get to do all the snooping she would have liked. She rejoined the other girls and they made their way outside the building … only to find that they were in a yard surrounded by an electric fence.

As the girls discovered that they were truly trapped, Toby, Ezra and Caleb came clean to Spencer’s parents that “A” was the one that took the girls. They managed to track the van that kidnapped the Liars to a farm and inform the police of the new information. The police found “A’s” lair – but it was not the same location that “A” was keeping the girls.

So, what will happen in the Season 6 premiere? Episode 1 will pick up with the Liars trapped outside of Charles’ dollhouse. Things will get worse now that they have angered “A.” Fortunately Ezra, Caleb and Toby are still on the case and willing to do anything in order to find the Liars.
