Hollywood can be a very stressful place for most actors and actresses given the demands of an acting career particularly in maintaining a certain look and figure. Such was the experience of Ashley Benson who shared her health and body confidence struggles in a recent interview.

The “Pretty Little Liars” actress was very candid during her interview with Health magazine, where she recounted moments when she was asked to lose weight for certain acting roles. Benson who served as the cover model for the magazine’s March issue, revealed that she was always told to shed a few more pounds and that a size two was considered great.

“It's just weird. With my stuff recently, it's been, ‘You have to be skin and bones or you're not getting it.’ There was a point where it was getting to where a size 2 was great. I'm a size 2, but I think that a size 4 is healthy. I think that all of these sizes are healthy,” she stated.

The actress and model also revealed that she received comments that she was “too fat” to be considered a supermodel. However, she has learned to ignore those feedbacks and stated that she feels good about her body. “I don't want to lose 20 pounds, because I don't need to,” Benson added.

In trying to stay fit, Benson shared that she tries to eat healthy and maintain a work-out plan, which consists of Pilates and boxing or SoulCycle sessions several times a week. Benson even admitted that there were moments when she would rather not do anything, although she said it would also make her feel bad about herself. The actress also revealed that she suffers from anxiety attacks and that working out has helped her cope with it.

Meanwhile, a project that has been keeping Benson busy is her role as Hanna Marin in the series “Pretty Little Liars.” Many viewers were heartbroken when Benson’s character Hanna and Caleb Rivers (Tyler Blackburn) ended their relationship. Hannah now has a new man in her life namely Jordan (David Coussins), however, Benson shared in a previous MTV interview that she would still like to see her character reconcile with former boyfriend Caleb.

“I think it will be fun to see Hanna with a new guy because everyone is still team Haleb. It’s fun, I’m still team Haleb, I’m like, ‘I want them to get back together,’” Benson commented.

Fans will have to see whether a Hanna-Caleb reconciliation will be in the works or if Benson’s character will really end up with Jordan.

“Pretty Little Liars” season 6 episode 16 will air on Feb. 16 on Freeform.
