Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles were reportedly in hysterics a year ago due to a controversial book written against the royals.

In March 2018, Tom Bower released a biography for the Prince of Wales entitled “Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles.” The publication contains a number of controversial things about the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and it did bother them.

According to royal correspondent Camilla Tominey, Prince Charles and Camilla were “hysterical” after learning about the claims that Prince Charles was a “pampered prince.” The pair was reportedly “amused” by it.

“Calling him a pampered prince is one thing but some of the more ludicrous claims in the book have had Charles and Camilla in stitches,” an insider told Tominey.

“They were in hysterics over the idea that retired Asian servants are employed to handpick slugs from plants in the middle of the night. And the suggestion about horizontal hand-weeding at Highgrove... it's a 900-acre estate, for heaven's sake.”

In his book, Bower claimed that Prince Charles had outrageous travel demands including moving his entire bedroom. Prince Charles’ staff also packed a small radio, his lavatory seat, rolls of Premium Comfort lavatory paper, Laphroaig whiskey and bottled water. The future king also purportedly insisted that they brought two landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.

Prince Charles allegedly did all these when he visited a friend in northeast England. The heir reportedly replaced the already perfect fittings in the guest room. He also had his organic food delivered ahead of his arrival. Unlike the future king, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly eats what is served to her.

Camilla appeared to have inherited her royal husband’s demanding attitude during their trips because she also has her own requirements. The Duchess of Cornwall reportedly wanted to travel in chartered jets and chauffeur-driven cars with extra security.

Aside from her own outrageous travel demands, when Camilla accepts invitations to dinner parties she sends the host a list of food that she likes and dislikes. At home, even if her demands were already excessive, the Clarence House staff were ordered to say, “Yes, Ma’am.”

In related news, Prince Charles and Camilla just visited Cuba. During their trip, the Prince of Wales rejected a hairdresser’s offer to neat up his curls.
