After Prince Andrew’s interview, in which he discussed his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, he received a wave of backlash from the public. Due to the criticism from the interview, a royal expert believes Prince Charles will confront his brother over the PR nightmare.

When Prince Andrew’s BBC Newsnight interview aired, Prince Charles was on a royal tour of New Zealand. One royal expert believes the Prince of Wales will be “furious” about his brother’s scandalous interview. Charles is expected to address the interview, as well as Andrew’s decision to invite his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, to Buckingham Palace.

Royal author, Phil Dampier told Mail Online that Prince Charles will remind Prince Andrew of the monarchy’s expectations. “I’m sure when Charles returns from New Zealand, he will sit Andrew down and read him the riot act,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tom Bower claimed the brothers’ encounter will most likely cause further tension in the royal family. “There’s no love lost between Charles and Andrew, and I’m certain they will meet,” he explained.

“Charles will be furious that his trip to New Zealand has been completely overshadowed. The one thing Charles is determined to do is inherit the crown, and he won’t let anyone get in the way,” Bower continued.

Royal insiders previously told The Sun that Prince Andrew was “delusional” following the interview and thought it went well.

“He seriously believes he’s pulled off a master triumph. It’s astonishing. No one has the heart to tell him that he’s delusional — and this is the overall problem. He’s surrounded by people who tell him what he wants to hear,” a source told the outlet.

“Yesterday he was looking happier than he has been for months, totally unaware his interview had caused a firestorm of criticism.”

Following the interview, Andrew attended church with Queen Elizabeth and gushed about his success. “The Duke went to church with the Queen and was heard telling her it’s all been a great success. He thinks he’s done the right thing and has put the criticism to rest. He was all smiles and was looking very buoyant and happy,” an insider revealed.

On Wednesday, Prince Andrew announced he would take a “step back from public duties for the foreseeable future.”
