When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were leaving the royal family, they claimed they desired more privacy and wanted to become financially independent. However, a celebrity branding expert suspects the couple has lied about their exit from the UK.

When Meghan and Harry announced their plans to step back from their senior royal duties, they revealed that they would be splitting their time between North America and the UK. While many assumed the couple would settle in the commonwealth country of Canada, they shocked royal insiders by moving to California.

Jeetendr Sehdev told The Guardian that Prince Harry and Meghan left the royal family with ulterior motives. “I don’t believe Meghan and Harry are moving out to Los Angeles for a peaceful life,” he explained.

“I think they’re moving here for a particular type of lifestyle,” Sehdev continued.

Sources have previously claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the west coast to be closer to their employees. After their royal exit, the pair reportedly hired a team that would help turn them into Hollywood celebrities.

Although Meghan and Prince Harry’s move has been met with mixed reactions, celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss previously revealed that the couple may have a better chance at becoming financially independent once they are settled in Los Angeles.

“The paps will love them, and it will be crazy at the beginning – but, just like anything and any celebrity, eventually they become part of the community, and it just becomes a normalcy in La La Land,” Weiss revealed.

Since leaving the royal family, Meghan has landed a job narrating the Disney documentary “Elephants” and is expected to announce more projects now that she and Prince Harry have officially stepped down from their roles as working members of the royal family.
