  • Duncan Larcombe described Prince Harry as a "great guy" who is "very vulnerable to influences"
  • The royal expert suggested that many of Harry's past controversies were the results of "bad influences" in his life
  • The biographer claimed the Duke of Sussex is living his wife Meghan Markle's version of "normal"

A biographer of Prince Harry's claims that the Duke of Sussex has displayed a susceptibility to being heavily influenced by his romantic partners, including his wife Meghan Markle.

In a new interview with Fox News Digital, royal expert Duncan Larcombe, a former royal editor at The Sun and the author of "Prince Harry: The Inside Story," described the prince as "a very lost soul" and suggested that the royal has been that way potentially even before his mother Princess Diana died.

"Harry's a great guy, but has been very vulnerable to influences. Look how influences have affected Prince Harry's life," he told the outlet.

Larcombe cited Prince Harry's past drug use, controversial Nazi costume and strip club scandal, among other controversies, as examples of the results of "bad influences" in his life.

"He is someone who is susceptible to being very influenced and easily led by the people around him. And I don't see how anyone could argue against that," the royal expert claimed of the prince. "That would be the opinion of King Charles about his own son."

Larcombe went on to express his doubts that Prince Harry has reached a point where he makes his own decisions about his life.

The biographer said he believes Prince Harry isn't the one calling the shots in his marriage to Markle. He suggested that the couple's decision to leave the royal family and sign book and production deals with Netflix, Spotify and more could be another example of the prince trying to "morph" himself into what he believes is the vision of normal as the person he's with.

"It's normal, to Harry not to have his father in his life because Meghan doesn't. It's normal for Harry to go touring around for business and trying to secure the next book deal or TV deal because Meghan does. Harry's living his life as normal because it's Meghan's normal," Larcombe told Fox News.

The royal expert suggested that the marriage may not last if this continues.

"I can't see any longevity in that. Something's gotta give," he said.

British journalist Angela Levin, who is also a biographer of the Duke of Sussex, seemingly echoed Larcombe's observation that Prince Harry is mirroring Markle in terms of their relationship with their family.

The Duchess of Sussex has been estranged from her family on her father's side for years, and only her mom, Doria Ragland, was present at her 2018 royal wedding to Prince Harry.

Levin claimed that Prince Harry's views of his family changed after he married the former "Suits" actress.

"With Harry, he said when [Camilla] and Charles got married that she was a wonderful woman. You know she's got to put up with that. I think she's terrific. But I think his views of anybody in the royal family since his marriage have gone down the drain," the author said on Sky News Australia while promoting her new book "Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort." "I think he's passing on his own unhappiness by blaming all the royals."
