Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth may not have had a close relationship with all of their four children, but they made it a point to bond with them whenever possible.

In an unearthed photo, royal fans caught a rare glimpse into the interactions between the members of the royal family. In the throwback picture, Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth, and Prince Charles appear to be very distant from each other. They also have different worlds.

The Duke of Edinburgh is sitting on the sofa while chatting with his youngest son, Prince Andrew. Sitting on another sofa is the Queen and her hands are clasped. The 93-year-old monarch is also looking down in the photo.

Beside Her Majesty is Princess Anne, who is looking at a book or a photo album. And in front of the fireplace are Prince Charles and Prince Andrew. The heir to the throne is sitting on a chair with a serious look on his face.

Prince Andrew, on the other hand, is looking at what looks like a small flower that’s in his hand. The royal family’s photo, even though it looks candid, also seems to be staged. It is unclear if the royals really have their own worlds when they are together.

Meanwhile, another throwback photo shows Prince Andrew hanging out with his godson Prince Harry. In the snap, Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson are chatting while sitting beside each other.

The two female royals have huge smiles on their faces, and it was evident that the picture was taken during the time when they still got along. A young Prince Harry is standing in between Prince Andrew’s legs, and the latter is looking at the Duke of Sussex’s head.

The photo was taken on May 1987 in Windsor during a polo match. But one royal fan said that Princess Diana actually looks sad and alone in the photograph.
