Prince Philip got into a heated spat with former news presenter John Humphrys years ago. At that time, the Duke of Edinburgh was with Queen Elizabeth II, and the latter witnessed the incident.

During a recent interview, the 76-year-old television personality said that Prince Philip accused him of stealing his car while they were in Mexico. The accusation shocked Humphrys but he didn’t go down without a fight.

After Prince Philip cursed at Humphrys, the latter also fired back at him using an expletive. “ We did have a falling out. There was a dirt road in Mexico when he leaped out of a police car. The Queen was in front of the car. He got out and said, ‘You stole my [expletive] car.’ I said [expletive] off,” he said.

Shortly after, Humphrys told Prince Philip that he didn’t steal his car and then he sarcastically apologized to him. At this point, the Queen stepped out of her private vehicle, and Humphrys caught her laughing.

Her Majesty is no stranger to witnessing Prince Philip’s gaffes and hearing his foul-mouth. After all, the royal couple has been married for over years. During one incident, Prince Philip also cursed at a photographer for taking such a long time to snap his photograph. He also joked about the skin’s complexion during another incident.

Meanwhile, Humphrys revealed that he begged the Queen for an interview twice but she turned him down on both occasions. And to make things worse, the monarch even told the news reporter that if she will ever sit down for an interview, it would certainly not be with him.

“I have wanted to sit there and say, ‘With me this morning is Her Majesty The Queen.’ She has probably met more powerful people than anyone else. And there’s the gossip, you know what I mean?” he said.

But as of late, the Queen has done a slew of interviews. She has also appeared in several documentaries.
