  • Prince William is not as luxurious as Prince Charles
  • Prince William is more like Queen Elizabeth than Prince Charles
  • Princess Diana didn't think so

Prince William may be the son of Prince Charles, but the two royals couldn’t be more different from one another.

In 2011, royal author Penny Junor talked about Prince Charles’ very luxurious lifestyle and said that he isn’t also like Queen Elizabeth II.

Years ago, Her Majesty was spotted eating corn flakes on a bowl on the table, and the moment proved that the monarch is just like everyone else. But Junor said that she couldn’t imagine Prince Charles eating off of a bowl.

“He lives a very comfortable life and has much staff to look after him. William, by contrast, I think is like his grandma, the Queen. I think after the chaotic, crazy life that he had as a child, I think he would love a bit of normality,” Junor said.

However, Prince William won’t most likely be so dependent on the trappings of the monarchy just like Prince Charles.

Throughout his life, Prince William has expressed his desire to live a normal life. In 2016, he told BBC that he wants the same thing for his three children.

“I love my children the same way any father does and I hope George loves me the same way any does to his father. So, we are very normal in that sense and you know there’ll be time to bring George up and understand how he fits into the world,” he said.

Meanwhile, Princess Diana thinks that Prince William is more similar to Prince Charles than to her. In the documentary “Royalty Up Close: The Photography of Kent Gavin,” the Princess of Wales’ former royal chef, Darren McGrady, detailed one of the conversations he had with the late royal.

Princess Diana reportedly told him that Prince William is deep like Prince Charles. Prince Harry, on the other hand, is more like her because they are both airheads.
