Although Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attempted to bring attention to the impact the tabloids have had on their marriage, insiders revealed it has caused the royal family to turn their back on the couple.

During the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s documentary, “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” they told Tom Bradby that they have been struggling to deal with attention from the media. Meghan also revealed she hasn’t felt supported during the difficult time in her life.

Along with the tension created from the couple’s documentary, Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship has become further strained. A source told People that the brothers’ different positions in the monarchy have hurt their bond.

“William is the future King. There is going to be some competitiveness between him and Harry. That already puts a rock in the relationship,” the insider explained.

Furthermore, it appears William, and the rest of the royal family have been giving Meghan and Harry the cold shoulder after their interview. “There hasn’t been this complete 180. Nothing has changed. They don’t speak, no one is checking in, no one is texting,” a source revealed.

Royal biographer Penny Junor previously told People that the royal family isn’t known for supporting one another. “It is a strange family and not one that has supported one another very well. They don’t praise one another, and never call each other up just to say, ‘That was a great speech,” she shared.

Along with the lack of support, the brother’s growing family has also contributed to the strain in their relationship.

“As is often the case in any family, when one of your siblings gets married, there’s always a period of readjustment. People have new priorities and different focuses,” a source revealed.

Although royal insiders have hoped the brothers would set aside their differences and come back together, it appears Prince William and Prince Harry are attempting to create further distance in their relationship.
