Princess Diana Pulled This Rebellious Move Amid Prince Charles, Camilla’s Affair

Princess Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles may have ended because of his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, but the Princess of Wales didn’t go down without a fight.

Andrew Morton, the author of “Diana: Her True Story,” detailed one of Princess Diana’s bravest moments that took place in 1989. At that time, Princess Diana just found out that Prince Charles and Camilla reignited their relationship.

While at the birthday party of Camilla’s sister, Princess Diana decided to turn up at the event even though she was reportedly not invited. She saw Prince Charles and Camilla having a conversation with a male guest and decided to interrupt their discussion.

According to Morton, Camilla looked extremely uncomfortable when she saw Princess Diana at the party. She immediately put her head down, but the Princess of Wales wanted to let the Duchess of Cornwall know that she’s aware of her and Prince Charles’ affair.

After telling Camilla’s peers that she wanted to have a word with the future queen consort, the men reportedly went upstairs like chickens with no heads. In her taped conversation, Princess Diana also recalled the controversial moment.

“The voice inside of me had said, ‘just go for it.’ I said, ‘I know what’s going on between you and Charles and I just want you to know that’” she said.

Princess Diana said that Camilla’s response during their confrontation was very interesting. Camilla told Princess Diana that she already got everything she has ever wanted. She also said that all men who instantly fall in love with the mom of two, and she has two beautiful children. Camilla asked Princess Diana what more does she want.

The late Princess of Wales told Camilla directly that she wanted her husband. Unfortunately, Princess Diana’s pleas fell on deaf ears. Prince Charles and Camilla’s affair continued throughout Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage.

The couple announced their separation in 1992, and their divorce was finalized in 1996. One year later, Princess Diana passed away following a fatal car crash in Paris. Prince Charles and Camilla wed in a civil ceremony in 2005.
