  • Redditors are predicting another stellar lineup for May's PS Plus free games
  • A "Star Wars" game is highly likely to be included in May's free games lineup
  • Fans are hoping to see either "Marvel's Avengers" or "Sackboy" as well

Sony has been very generous with PS Plus subscribers these past few months, and fans are hoping that May’s free games lineup will be just as good as the ones before.

April’s PlayStation Plus free games roster had a pleasantly surprising zombie theme, with “Days Gone” and “Zombie Army 4” taking the spotlight along with “Oddworld: Soulstorm” for the PS5. This also marked the fourth straight month where Sony included big titles in its free games offering in the subscription service.

With the seemingly consistent trend of free AA or AAA games being included as part of PS Plus’ subscription offers, fans are predicting more hard-hitting titles for May’s upcoming lineup. There are plenty of hopeful predictions on the r/PlaystationPlus, but there are a few more interesting ones that might actually stand a chance at coming true.

Some predict that a “Star Wars” game might be included in next month’s PS Plus offer as part of the fandom-wide “May the 4th” celebration. “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” seems to be the most likely candidate out of the recent games based on the series, especially since EA is apparently becoming more generous with how it distributes its games. “Fallen Order” is about a year old now, and it’s just about time for the game to make an appearance as part of PlayStation Plus.

“Marvel’s Avengers” is another interesting prediction, as it seems to be a game that everyone loves to hate yet still wants to play. It’s no secret that Crystal Dynamics has been struggling to get the game viewed in positive light amid controversial monetization and questionable game design issues, but players who have actually gone through its campaign say that it’s still a solid experience. There are no real clues that point to this game going free, but PS users are hoping.

For the PS5, fans are predicting “Sackboy” to make its way to the lineup, partly in line with how “Oddworld: Soulstorm” managed to enter the PS Plus lineup. “Sackboy: A Big Adventure” is a spin-off of the classic “LittleBigPlanet” series that launched on the PS3 back in 2008. Having the PS5 version of “Sackboy” for free on PS Plus would be a neat homage to the original game.

Sony is expected to reveal the final lineup on or before the end of the month.
