PlayStation 5 is currently being marketed as the next generation gaming console that houses the custom version of AMD Zen 2 chip and a Solid State Drive (SSD). We have heard a lot of groundbreaking features about Sony’s upcoming console will introduce to the gaming industry. However, according to a new report, there is one more PlayStation 4 weakness that the PlayStation 5 has to improve.

Gamerant recently highlighted in its report that if Sony intends to make the PlayStation 5 the preferred platform for gamers, it has to improve the update process of the PS4. Updating a game on Sony’s current generation console at the moment does not really make any sense, according to the gaming site. The file downloading could consume between 2 and 30 minutes relative to the size of the update, but instead of installing everything after the file is downloaded, the console starts a new process of copying the file, adds the report.

PlayStation 4 has this bad habit of taking an extremely long time to copy than to download, the gaming site stated. The Japanese gaming console maker has also never explained why the process is taking infinitely long and slow, making it more frustrating to most PlayStation 4 owners. Gamerant also noted that the process is the same regardless of the Internet speed.

But, considering that the PlayStation 5 will have a Solid State Drive, the update process issue could significantly improve. Installing and updating games will most probably take advantage of the Flash instead of the HDD that Sony’s current generation gaming console is using right now. The SSD, according to game developers, will greatly improve the graphics, lags, and loading times of the games.

Aside from the update process, Rolling Stone earlier reported that PlayStation is currently creatively collaborating with Sony Music to make sure that PS5 exclusives will have curated game soundtracks. It appears that Sony is covering all the bases to ensure that its next-generation gaming console will greatly satisfy gamers. The PlayStation 5 is scheduled to arrive sometime in the holiday of 2020. Some believe it might be released in Nov 2020.
