Queen Elizabeth II reportedly denied Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s request to have an autonomous household.

Earlier this year, the palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are splitting their household from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Markle were all managed by Kensington Palace until the new parents decided to have their own brand.

According to royal correspondent Chris Ship, Prince Harry and Markle wanted to have their own “autonomous household” that’s why they separated from Prince William and Middleton. However, the “most high profile“ couple didn’t get what they want as Buckingham Palace took them under its wing.

“They don’t have their own autonomous household. We think they wanted one,” Ship explained. “We think they were pushing to have one but, in the end, it was decided for whatever reason that both Harry and Meghan would sit within Buckingham Palace.”

According to Ship, the Queen denied their request because she wanted to “keep an eye” on them.

“You would have to ask the Palace. There is some speculation that the Queen wanted to keep an eye on this young and very dynamic couple,” the royal expert added.

At present, Prince Harry and Markle’s communication chief reports to Buckingham Palace’s communication chief.

Last weekend, Prince Harry and Markle celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The couple shared never-before-seen behind the scene photos from their big day to mark the event.

Hours after their photos were posted, Kensington Palace shared adorable family pictures of Prince William and Middleton having a fun outing with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at the Chelsea Flower Show garden that Middleton, herself, design.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were accused of stealing Prince Harry and Markle’s thunder for doing so. As of late, it is a taboo to post photos when a close family member has just done the same.

According to Richard Palmer, Middleton and Markle’s social media clash has already upset the palace. Meanwhile, Camilla Tominey said that Prince William and Middleton are not backing off and will not allow to be overshadowed by Prince Harry and Markle.
