Queen Elizabeth II issued a touching statement regarding the recent wildfires in California.

According to Town & Country, it is typical of the Queen to issue heartfelt messages of support to victims of calamities, but her recent statement is more special because Meghan Markle grew up in the Golden State.

“Prince Philip and I offer our deepest sympathies to the people of California, who continue to suffer from the devastating fires across the state. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victims, and to all those who have lost their homes and livelihoods. I pay tribute to the courage and dedication of the US emergency services and the volunteers that have provided support,” she said.

Her Majesty’s letter was signed with Elizabeth R, which means Elizabeth Regina or the Queen.

Last weekend, it was reported by officials that the California wildfire was still only 55 percent contained. The first responders expect the fires to be fully contained by the end of this month. As of late, the wildfires have affected 148,000 acres. At least 79 people have also died in the past weeks, and 1,300 have been reported as missing.

Last week, one of the residents spoke to Mirror regarding the devastating incident.

“We’ve watched the flames in the distance coming closer and by the day. Usually, there is some kind of miracle or the winds change, we fear our homes will be next. All we can do is pray,” the resident said.

Some celebrities’ homes that were destroyed in the fires belonged to Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus, and Gerard Butler.

In related news, Markle also made headlines last weekend after it was revealed that the palace staff calls her “Hurricane Meghan” because of her outrageous demands. It has been revealed that the Duchess of Sussex wakes up very early in the morning and sends six to seven texts to staff daily to share her thoughts and ideas on what she wants to be done in the palace.

“Meghan can be difficult. She has very high standards and is used to working in a Hollywood environment. However, there’s a different degree of respect in the royal household and Kate has always been very careful about how she has acted around the staff,” a source told Daily Mail.
