Queen Elizabeth II should ban Prince Andrew on the next Trooping the Colour.

The Queen’s favorite son has been embroiled in controversy due to his connection with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Things have gotten worse for Prince Andrew when he did the controversial Newsnight interview, which prompted him to step down from his royal roles just days after the interview.

According to royal correspondent Roya Nikkhah of The Times, the Duke of York’s 60th birthday was a damp squib because the Queen canceled the party due to the Epstein scandal. Today, he is facing another birthday quandary as his attendance at the Queen’s birthday celebration might be canceled, too.

Prince Andrew grew up taking center stage at Trooping the Colour. He has been the heart of the military parade for the past two years riding alongside Prince Charles, Prince William and Princess Anne during the parade. He took over Prince Philip’s role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in 2017. But senior military figures want him to be banned from the event this year.

“Prince Andrew’s participation in the event would very likely and unfairly damage the reputation of the Queen and the monarchy, and he’s already stirred up enough problems for them,” a military official said.

Palace sources said that no decision has been made about Prince Andrew’s attendance at the parade or the traditional balcony appearance with Queen Elizabeth II and the rest of the members of the royal family at the time. However, it has been confirmed that he will be attending Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding in May. Prince Andrew is reportedly hoping that his attendance at his daughter’s royal wedding will soften the public’s mood toward him for an appearance in June. However, royal sources believed that it is unlikely to happen and deemed it “unrealistic.”

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II surprisingly removed Prince Andrew’s HRH title in her birthday greeting last week. Her Majesty has included the Duke of York’s HRH title in her previous birthday greetings to Prince Andrew in the past years, so many were shocked because it was missing this year.
