Queen Elizabeth II stayed close to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

According to Alice Scarsi, a journalist for Express, the monarch decided to stay close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by attending the annual Maundy Thursday service at St. George’s Cathedral in Windsor. The place is only 10 minutes away from Prince Harry and Markle’s new home, Frogmore Cottage.

Queen Elizabeth II was not alone during the said engagement as she was joined by her granddaughter, Princess Eugenie, who got married in the same chapel to Jack Brooksbank last October.

“The Queen commemorates Maundy by offering 'alms' to senior citizens - retired pensioners recommended by clergy and ministers of all denominations, in recognition of their service to the church and to the local community,” the royal family announced on Twitter.

“The Queen distributes Maundy Money to people from all across the UK - nominated for their work in the community.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Windsor earlier this month. Initially, they were expected to move in their new home late March, but it was delayed because the “demanding royals” reportedly made many changes in the design.

Prior to their move, Prince Harry and Markle stayed at Heckfield Place hotel. The couple occupied the Long Room which costs $13,000 per night. Many believed that the duke and duchess were celebrating their babymoon as their bundle of joy is expected to arrive soon.

However, one netizen claimed that the couple was actually forced to stay at the hotel because Queen Elizabeth II wanted them out of Kensington Palace on April 1, but their new home was not finished yet at the time.

Prince Harry and Markle have already moved in their new home. However, they reportedly infuriated their staff after banning them from using the car park because it “overlooks their new home.”

One staff said that it’s an understatement to admit that they are upset and annoyed. They assumed that the order was from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because they don’t want to look out of their window and see the cars and members of staff coming in and out.

A senior source at Windsor Castle defended Prince Harry and Markle. According to the source, it wasn’t the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who demanded the change.
