The family of alleged R. Kelly cult victim Joycelyn Savage compared her involvement with the singer to slavery, according to a Friday report from TMZ. Despite denials over allegations of unwilling participation by both Savage and Kelly, Savage's family has maintained concerns about abuse from the Grammy-award winning singer.

Timothy Savage, the father of Joyceln Savage, told TMZ that the FBI was still investigating the allegations, but they're now looking into Florida women who might also be involved. His comments follow a video made by his daughter Tuesday, which she requested for her father to end all from public accusations.

Timothy Savage hinted at the issue of sexual consent in Kelly's alleged sex cult, and claimed that his daughter's situation is "almost like slavery."

"It's not about being a consenting adult, some of these girls he met when they were 17 — it's a known fact. Some of these things we're talking about, it's not about sexual [stuff]," Timothy Savage told TMZ. "You know, you can have a relationship with anybody at a certain age when you get of age, but it's the abuse we're talking about. It's almost like slavery."

Timothy Savage added that he believes that the video TMZ acquired of his daughter's plea is an indicator that something is off, also claiming women shouldn't have to experience what their family is going through.

"Nobody can allow women to go through what we're going through, especially our daughter. We have experienced this first hand and we know what's going on," he continued. "Due to the video you have, it shows some of the things that's going on. The last time we talked to Joycelyn [was] in 2016 of December — that's the last time I've seen my daughter."

A representative of Kelly did not immediately return International Business Times' request for comment.

An unidentified woman that was formerly a part of the R&B singer's inner circle spoke with Jezebel Wednesday about her experiences. She claimed that it was like "Stockholm Syndrome."

"They’re all above the age of consent," the woman told Jezebel. "They can leave. But it was like witnessing Stockholm Syndrome. All these girls are so nice and trusting and young."

The woman alleged that Kelly forced his sexual partners to undergo "bizarre cult-like behavioral restrictions." The famed R&B singer also allegedly required the women to participate in continuous physical, sexual and psychological acts.

BuzzFeed first broke the news Monday, claiming that Kelly was allegedly holding women captive in a cult. The report was written by Jim DeRogatis, a Chicago reporter who has covered and leaked Kelly's controversies to the public for years. DeRogatis' report was released the day the Savage family held a press conference about Kelly, addressing their daughter and other women's involvement with the singer.

All alleged victims are between the ages 18 and 31, according to BuzzFeed.

Kelly, 50, has been the subject of other sexual misconduct allegations. In 2008, he was acquitted of child pornography charges. He also has been accused of having sexual relationships with numerous underage women.
