Sylvester Stallone has shared new pictures from his upcoming film, “Rambo 5: Last Blood,” on social media. The actor has promised to share more pictures until the film is released, and he hopes the fans will be able to piece together the plot of the movie through these movie stills.

John Rambo (Stallone) thought his journey was over when he came back home and settled down in his father’s farm. Destiny, however, has a different plan for him. The former soldier will have to pick up his gun one last time to protect those he loves.

The latest picture that Stallone posted on Instagram showed his character riding on horseback in a ranch that once belonged to his father. The movie still is in black and white, but the movie will be in “dramatic color.”

The movie still teases John’s new life as a cowboy. Apart from the ranch, the picture also appears to be showing off his spacious new home, which should be very comfortable when compared to a prison cell in Vietnam or Afghanistan.

Another movie still from “Rambo 5” on Instagram included a description about the former soldier’s new life. Stallone revealed that his character just wants a life of peace now after all the wars and fighting.

John will be living a “meaningful life” at the start of the film. He will keep himself busy by working at his father’s ranch and training horses. His only goals in life are to live in peace and protect the two people in his life that he feels love for. Fate, according to Stallone, will have other plans for his character.

According to Screen Rant, there were different ideas about the plot of “Rambo 5” that were developed over the years. One of the ideas was to adapt the novel “Hunter” for the franchise and have John chase down a hybrid monster created by the government. Such a plot would have changed the genre of the franchise. This idea was later dropped, but Stallone reportedly plans to make an adaptation of the novel as a standalone movie.

Another plot that Stallone worked on involved his character going on a rescue mission to find his kidnapped daughter in Mexico. It remains to be seen what plot the filmmakers finally chose.

“Rambo 5: Last Blood” is the final movie from the franchise. The film was directed by Adrian Grunberg. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but the film will be out sometime this year.
