  • He and his crew allegedly attacked a group of partygoers
  • The altercation took place at the Standard Hotel in the city

Rapper G-Eazy was arrested Monday for allegedly being involved in a physical altercation last week in New York City.

The tiff reportedly took place at the Standard Hotel around 12.50 a.m. ET Friday. The “Him & I” rapper’s crew got involved in a fight with another group of partygoers, which led to one person needing stitches on his head.

G-Eazy reportedly entered a VIP section at the Boom Boom Room in the hotel, which was already reserved for a private party for clothing company Lacoste, the New York Daily News reported. The rapper was asked to leave, but he and his entourage allegedly refused to do so, and soon an argument broke out.

The rapper and his crew allegedly "attacked the partygoer, punching and kicking him to the ground," the outlet said. The fight soon spilled out onto the sidewalk outside the hotel, where G-Eazy reportedly punched a 32-year-old man.

G-Eazy and his crew members were not seriously injured in the altercation. However, socialite Daniel Chetrit suffered from head injuries that resulted in him getting some stitches, as he was apparently hit on his head with a bottle, Page Six reported.

The police told the outlet that G-Eazy was “charged with assault after a 29-year-old male and 32-year-old male reported being struck by the defendant.” As of now it is not clear if anyone else with charged after the incident or if Chetrit was the one assaulted by G-Eazy.

The rapper was arrested Monday at 5.30 p.m. as most celebs were busy getting ready to make an appearance at the Met Gala. He will be going before a judge at a later date.

This is not the first time the rapper was charged in an altercation case. G-Eazy was convicted of assault, drug possession and resisting arrest following a nightclub brawl in Sweden in 2018. The “Good Life” rapper was then sentenced to two years’ probation and ordered to pay 80,000 krona (about $9,000) for his crimes, as well as 6,500 krona (about $810) restitution to the security guard he was accused of assaulting, a courtroom source confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.

G-Eazy was last seen at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards that was held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
