  • Rockstar Games launched the "GTA 5" for the PS5 at a recent PlayStation 5 event
  • Many fans were disappointed especially those expectant of a potential "GTA 6" launch
  • A former game producer recently shared the reasons behind Rockstar Games' recent move

Rumors and leaks reportedly connected to "GTA 6" have been sporadically surfacing online as early as 2018. Despite this, Rockstar Games has not confirmed the game's existence. Many wondered why the gaming studio launched "GTA 5" for PS5 and Xbox Series X and not the much-awaited "GTA 6" and a former Rockstar Games producer may have the answer.

Gamerant recently spotted a potential explanation for the logic behind the latest move made by Rockstar Games. The site found on TikTok the statement of a former producer of the gaming studio on why it launched the seven-year-old title instead of the highly awaited one. The executive with a username DarionL said that he thinks Sony and Rockstar Games made that decision because the much-anticipated "GTA 6" is not yet ready.

On the popular social media site, the user claimed that from the development, there are a lot of good reasons behind this decision made by Rockstar Games. "I have made many games for new gaming consoles and it was really hard," he admitted. Technology is constantly changing and it is hard to make a AAA title at launch, the former game producer noted.

Additionally, Darion told viewers that it is way "cheaper" to update an existing game and make it prettier than to make an all-new one." "If I had to guess, I'd say 'GTA 6' isn't ready and 'GTA 5' will provide a nice stream of income and a fun Grand Theft Auto experience that everybody knows and loves within a year of the PlayStation 5 launching," he said. Gamerant thinks that the knowledge of the former game producer on the issue "hit the nail on the head."

Fans understood that Rockstar Games need more time to launch "GTA 6." However, this does not mean that the industry would not hear anything about the game. Every now and then fans would share leaks and rumors surrounding the heavily speculated title.

As the time of this publishing, the fandom has collected a myriad of rumors about "GTA 6." This includes the game's setting, gameplay, map and even a potential protagonist. Of course, these are not official and in this case, it is smarter to take these rumors with a good measure of salt.
