Reba McEntire has shared her thoughts on Kelly Clarkson's ongoing divorce battle with estranged husband Brandon Blackstock.

McEntire, 66, is a friend to Clarkson and was previously married to Blackstock's father, Narvel Blackstock, from 1989 until 2015. When asked during an interview with Extra if she was giving Clarkson advice amid her marital breakup, the country star made it clear that she isn't taking sides in their split.

"You know, I love them both. Brandon’s my stepson, Kelly's my good friend," she said in the interview published Saturday.

McEntire continued, "I am pulling for both of them. I hope they're happy and healthy and pull through this."

Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock, with whom she shares two children, in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. The two tied the knot in 2013, two years before McEntire called it quits with Blackstock's father.

The "Reba" sitcom star didn't directly address if she'd given Clarkson any advice but instead hoped others would send her fellow singer and her former stepson some positive thoughts.

"I pray everyone gives them the encouragement that they can because they need it right now, both of them do," McEntire continued. "I love them both with all my heart."

Clarkson, the inaugural winner of "American Idol," met McEntire on the show. They performed together for the first time at a concert in 2002.

"This is the first time I sang with her. We did 'Does He Love You,'" McEntire told Country Living in 2019. "They told her when she won the very first 'American Idol' that at the finals she could sing with her idol, and she chose me. So that’s the first time we got to meet. Little did we know we’d be relatives, we’d be in the same family."

She also praised Clarkson for being genuine. "She's just an incredible person. What you see is what you get, [there's] nothing fake about Kelly," McEntire added.

Though it isn't clear if she has been getting guidance from McEntire amid her divorce, Clarkson has said that speaking to friends is a huge help during tough times.

"I mean, it's no secret," she said on "Sunday Today With Willie Geist" last year. "My life has been a little bit of a dumpster. Personally, it's been a little hard the last couple of months. I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce. I don't know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved."

Just recently, fans speculated that Clarkson may have sent her estranged husband a message when she sang Billie Eilish's breakup ballad "Happier Than Ever" on her "Kelly Clarkson Show."

The singer slightly changed the lyrics while keeping the expletives. She changed the line "You made me hate this city" to "I get it, you hate this city."

Clarkson also concluded her version of the track with the lines, "You ruined everything good / Always said you were misunderstood / Made all my moments your own / Just f--king leave me alone."

Clarkson is based in Los Angeles, while Blackstock has been living and working in Montana since their split.

Earlier this month, the singer was awarded the $10.4 million Montana ranch that Blackstock had previously insisted was marital property. A judge ruled that their prenuptial agreement was valid, and Clarkson was the one who purchased the property.
