The CW finally released spoilers on “Reign” Season 4.

Last season, Mary’s (Adelaide Kane) trusty lady-in-waiting, Lola (Anna Popplewell), was beheaded by Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) because she believed she was plotting against her. Later, it was revealed that Lola was set up to take the fall. It was actually the devious John Knox (Jonathan Goad) who tricked Lola into thinking that Mary wanted her to assassinate Elizabeth.

When “Reign” returns in 2017, Mary will vow to avenge Lola’s death. Any semblance of peace that was there between Mary and her cousin was gone the moment she killed Lola. According to the synopsis (via SpoilerTV), the Queen of Scotland will be unsure of who she should trust. When she learns that her brother James (Dan Jeannotte) had a meeting with Knox, she tests her brother’s loyalty.

In the English court, Elizabeth agrees to help Lord Darnely (Will Kemp) in an attempt to sabotage the powerful suitor’s relationship with Mary.

Although nothing is mentioned about the French court, the Season 4, episode 1 cast list includes Megan Follows, who plays Catherine, Celina Sinden, who plays Greer, Craig Parker, who plays Narcisse, Lola’s husband, and Rose Williams, who plays Princess Claude.

Unfortunately, the episode’s description doesn’t reveal Leith’s (Jonathan Keltz) fate who was left bleeding in the snow after being stabbed by Martel de Guise’s men. He wanted to stop the Red Knights for good, but instead ended up bleeding to death in the snow while the love of his life, Claude, was busy selecting a wedding dress.

Season 4 is the final season of “Reign” since The CW has canceled the series. The final season consists of 16 episodes and is set to premiere on Friday, Feb. 10 at 9 p.m. EST. The series finale will air sometime in June.
