Reign
What is Charles hiding in “Reign” Season 4? Catch episode 4 on Friday, March 3 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW. John Medland/The CW

Mary Stuart (Adelaide Kane) could have had a very different life if she had married an English commoner like Gideon Blackburn (Ben Geurens). She could have lived the rest of her life in the countryside. Alas, that was not meant to be.

In “Reign” Season 4, the Queen of Scots flirted with the idea of a simpler life but when she discovered that Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) wasn’t going to keep her end of the bargain, she stopped dreaming.

What will happen this week on The CW drama?

“Reign” will finally address King Charles’ (Spencer Macpherson) secret. The French monarch has been behaving erratically and frequently sporting bloody hands. Last week, Narcisse (Craig Parker) enlisted a girl named Bianca (Sofia Banzhaf) to remind him of the pleasures of being a ruler. However, Charles only wanted to talk about death. She never came back.

In Season 4, episode 4, Narcisse will discover that the ruler of France is practicing necrophilia. Which means, he is sexually attracted to corpses. Yikes. He tells Charles’ mother Catherine de Medici (Megan Follows) of this discovery and she is, of course, furious. In the promo, Catherine demands her son to tell her what is going on.

Catherine won’t only be worried about Charles. According to the synopsis of “Playing With Fire” (via TVGuide), she helps Claude (Rose Williams) secure a new husband after Leith’s (Jonathan Keltz) death. One photo shows her walking down the aisle with someone.

Meanwhile, in Scotland, Mary starts to see that her marriage to Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) could be more than just a political alliance. However, she has more than marriage on her mind. Her half-brother James (Dan Jeannotte) informs her that John Knox (Jonathan Goad) intends to turn Catholics against their Scottish Queen.
