  • Kevin Frazier said he is confused why BTS was not nominated in the major categories

  • BTS won three trophies from the recent American Music Awards

An entertainment reporter easily endeared himself to BTS’ massive fans (ARMY) after expressing his disappointment over the single Grammy nomination that the famous Korean boyband earned this week.

Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier got the attention of the loyal ARMY after he questioned the voting process in the Recording Academy in a report for the CBS News on Thursday.

A Twitter user who goes by the handle, @hyyhstory posted a clip of the report Thursday before setting his tweets to private on Friday. Koreaboo also made a report based on the tweet.

In the clip, the journalist said, “BTS. Maybe the voting hadn’t gone global yet because they weren’t in the big four categories . You thought that a band like BTS who continues to sell out stadiums and you have “Butter” right now which did get nominated. But some of their other songs, they should have gotten nominated in the big four categories and they did not.”

On Twitter, #scammys was trending worldwide Wednesday, as loyal fans slammed The Recording Academy for giving just a single nomination to the massively famous boyband.

The “Permission To Dance” singers were nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for the track, “Butter.”

In addition to this, fans also complained why the septet was only given a single category to present during Tuesday’s announcement of nominees for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

While other artists were given multiple categories to announce, BTS took turns to mention the nominees for the Best Alternative Music Album.

Prior to this, the Bangtan Boys took home three trophies at the recent American Music Awards: Favorite Pop Song for “Butter,” Favorite Pop Duo or Group, and the coveted Artist of the Year.

Frazier added in the clip that he couldn't understand why The Recording Academy does not seem to recognize the talents of the septet despite their accomplishments and worldwide fame.

The ARMY appreciated Frazier’s kind words to the group before the tweet was set into private mode.

“Nice to hear someone in the media speaking the truth for a change!” user @sonitchka2 said.

Another fan tweeted some strong words against the Recording Academy saying, “They get so envy to [sic] BTS thats why grammy award never concidered that BTS is best among others..can you imagine they sell out stadium .did their best ..but its just nothing when it comes to grammy.whats wrong with you.GRAMMY??? its obviuosly you dont like them bcos they are Korean."
