Subaru’s Return by Death ability has come handy time and again. After Elsa disembowels Subaru, he wakes up in the Witch’s Graveyard and heads back to the mansion. However, this time he can see the bigger picture. "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World" Season 2, Episode 7 is titled "Eugene."

The official synopsis for "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World" Season 2, Episode 7 teases Subaru in the library after Beatrice saves his life from Elsa. Subaru is shocked after the sudden attack by Elsa and the Ma Beast. Beatrice rescues him, but he asks her why he did not help them earlier.

In the last episode, titled "The Maiden’s Gospel," Subaru finds himself at the Witch’s Graveyard alongside Emilia, who is undergoing the trial of the Sanctuary.

Emilia is offended when Subaru offers to take the three trials in her stead. Meanwhile, Garfiel is against the idea of Subaru taking the trials. Now, he has no choice but to leave for Roswaal’s mansion to check on Rem. Roswaal wants Subaru to take Ram with her.

At the mansion, Subaru is surprised to meet Petra and he is happy to see her. Ram asks Subaru to leave her alone with her sister, Rem, who remains in a comatose state.

Meanwhile, Subaru confronts Frederica and accuses her to be a member of the Conservatives, who want the barriers of Sanctuary intact. The conversation between Subaru and Frederica is cut short when Elsa arrives and attacks them.

Toward the end of the episode, Petra dies a gruesome death and Subaru is in the library with Beatrice. Now, Subaru and the others need to find a way to defeat Elsa.
