Camila Mendes is sending her love to her “Riverdale” co-stars who are facing various sexual assault allegations.

According to Us Weekly, Mendes’ co-stars in the popular American teen drama Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Vanessa Morgan and KJ Apa have been attacked by anonymous Twitter users, alleging sexual assault and harassment against them. Mendes immediately made a statement to defend her co-actors.

“It’s incredibly destructive to falsely accuse people of sexual assault,” she wrote in her Instagram Stories.

“Whatever point this person was trying to make about how quickly people believe what they read, it was not worth damaging the integrity of the me too movement. It’s sickening and doesn’t prove anything except that there are twisted people in this world who have no concern for the consequences of their harmful actions,” she added.

Mendes concluded her message by showing support to Sprouse, Reinhart, Morgan and Apa.

“Sending love to my castmates who had to deal with this nonsense. love you guys,” she stated.

Mendes also shared Sprouse and Reinhart’s responses to the allegations against them. Both took to Twitter to clear their names.

“False accusations do tremendous damage to victims of actual assault. Furthermore, I would never seek to silence anybody. I encourage that people look into the accusations themselves, as the events detailed were factually untrue. 2,” Sprouse wrote.

Sprouse added that he is taking the accusations “very seriously” and will be working with the right teams to “get the root of it.”

Just like Sprouse, Reinhart is taking legal actions for the sexual assault allegations against her.

“I can’t think of something more twisted than lying about sexual assault. It invalidates the men and women who are brave enough to come forward with the truth,” she wrote in separate tweets.

Madelaine Petsch also responded to the issue and slammed the trolls who started the allegations against her “Riverdale” co-stars.

“As someone who has been sexually assaulted, I am deeply deeply disturbed that anyone thinks that it is okay to falsely accuse someone of sexual assault,” she wrote.

“This is why real assault allegations can sometimes not be taken seriously, you should be ashamed. This is disgusting.”
