“Roswell, New Mexico” is signing off for the season on Monday night with the Season 2 finale, but fans are likely wondering if Season 3 is going to happen. Luckily, The CW already announced the fate of the alien drama.

In January, “Roswell, New Mexico” was renewed for Season 3. The CW didn’t cancel any shows this season, so they’re in good company.

Unfortunately, it isn’t known when “Roswell, New Mexico” Season 3 will start. With the global health crisis, the show has delayed filming until at least October. The CW’s normal fall shows aren’t returning until January, and “RNM” is still a midseason show. It seems like spring would be the earliest it would premiere.

As for what to expect in Season 3, “Roswell” star Michael Vlamis, who plays Michael Guerin, previously told International Business Times that he wants the alien to find some happiness.

“I would want him to find peace within himself and knowing that he's enough and that there are people that love him and care about him in the way that he's always longed for, which his family, whether him and the aliens are actually related not or whether they were separated from different homes growing up… I would like him to find a little bit more peace with himself,” the actor said.

“At the same time, I'm a little conflicted because I love being in a jail cell as the character. I love being dirty. I love fighting. I love the drama. I don't know which way they're going to take me, but I'm going to be happy with either,” Vlamis added.

The “Roswell, New Mexico” writers room is already thinking of ideas for Season 3. Showrunner Carina MacKenzie recently explained that some hypotheticals include the aliens’ powers growing to the point where they can’t touch humans without leaving a glowing handprint.

Fans will have to wait until next year to find out what’s in store for “Roswell, New Mexico” Season 3.
