The members of the royal family have secret nicknames for each other.

The royal family is known for their prestigious titles. However, when they are behind closed doors, they call each other just like how one normally calls a family member.

Isabella Sullivan, a journalist for Daily Express, recently reported that when the royals are at home, they have sweet nicknames for the Queen. Those close to Her Majesty usually address her as "Mama." Prince Charles, Prince Harry and Prince William use this to address Queen Elizabeth.

On the other hand, Prince George and Princess Charlotte refer to their great-grandmother as "Gan Gan." This is reportedly similar to how the Duke of Cambridge called the Queen when he was younger.

When Prince William was a child, he couldn't pronounce the word "Granny" correctly, which ended up with him calling Queen Elizabeth II "Gary."

According to The Mirror columnist Richard Kay, Prince William fell over in Buckingham Palace and was overheard crying while saying, "Gary, Gary."

Prince Philip has sweet endearments for his wife as well. Based on Netflix's "The Crown," the Duke of Edinburgh calls the Queen "Lilibet," a twist on the name Elizabeth. He also reportedly calls her "Sausage."

Meghan Markle, who just joined the royal family in May, has received a new nickname from her father-in-law too. Prince Charles reportedly calls the Duchess of Sussex "tungsten" because she is "touch and unbending."

"Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy. It's become a term of endearment," the source said.

Meanwhile, Markle calls Prince Harry "Haz," while Middleton uses "babe" to call her husband. In one event, the Duchess of Cambridge was heard telling her spouse, "Babe, we've got those. We've got loads of those." On the other hand, Prince William calls Middleton "darling" and "poppet."

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles have their own endearments for each other. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall reportedly call each other "Fred" and "Gladys."

There was reportedly a time when Princess Diana saw a gold chain bracelet with a blue enamel disc and engraved with an entwined "G" and "F." The late Princess of Wales confronted the next-in-line to the throne who went ahead and gave it to Camilla two days before their wedding.
