Santiago Cabrera as Darius, Ian Anthony Dale as Harris
Darius (Santiago Cabrera) decides to disclose one of his most closely guarded secrets to Harris (Ian Anthony Dale) and Grace (Jennifer Finnigan) in Season 1, episodes 4 and 5 of “Salvation.” CBS

Darius (Santiago Cabrera) must reveal one of his secrets in next week’s back-to-back episodes of “Salvation.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 4, Darius attempts to get Harris (Ian Anthony Dale) and Grace’s (Jennifer Finnigan) trust back by disclosing one of his most closely guarded secrets to the pair.

At the end of last episode, after Tanz Industries’ EM Drive blew up, the president ordered Harris to execute the government’s plan of using the IO Probe as a kinetic impactor. But just before the IO probe could exit Jupiter’s orbit and make its way towards the asteroid, Darius secretly hacked NASA and took control of the IO Probe. Darius remotely activated the IO Probe’s thrusters at full strength, preventing it from colliding with the asteroid.

While Harris suspected that China, Russia or Iran was the one responsible for the hack, Grace had a hunch that Darius might be the culprit as she received a text message from him telling her that he has “one more move left” just a few minutes before NASA was hacked.

“Do you think he (Darius) could hack NASA?” Grace asks Liam (Charlie Rowe) in the trailer for next week’s episode.

Elsewhere in Season 1, episode 4, Liam helps Jillian (Jacqueline Byers) adjust to her new job at Tanz Industries.

As to what will happen in Season 1, episode 5, the synopsis for the hour reveals that Darius is left with no choice but to reckon with his past when he tries to figure out who killed his friend Lazlo (Aaron Poole). Also in the episode, Liam discovers who’s been selling secrets to the Russians. And as seen at the end of the trailer for the upcoming episodes, the MIT grad student appears to have shot someone, much to his horror.

Meanwhile, Cabrera and Rowe briefly talked about episodes 4 and 5 in an interview with TVLine at San Diego Comic-Con last weekend. Cabrera revealed that one of the producers called him to warn him about episode 4. “There’s some intense stuff happening for me [in episode 4],” Cabrera teased.

For his part, Rowe said that “episode 5 was pretty fun … I was shocked when I was reading it.”
