Selena Gomez’s new single, which leaked online on July 9, two weeks before its release date, begins with a voicemail that is believed to be from former boyfriend Justin Bieber, reports said.

The song, ‘Love Will Remember,’ starts off with a message from the person said to be Bieber professing his love for Gomez.

"Hey, Babe, it's me," the voicemail message begins. "I just want to call and tell you that I love you so, so, so much. I just wanted to let you know that you are my princess. You are worthy of all the love in the world. You are the love of my life."

‘Love Will Remember’ is said to be Gomez’s most personal track on the record, and it talks about her on-again-off-again relationship with Bieber. In an earlier interview with InStyle magazine, Gomez had said she hopes Bieber would love the track, although it is about their breakup.

“I think it's a sweet way of releasing it. It's not an aggressive approach to what people are probably expecting. I'm sure he'll love it too," Gomez told InStyle at the time.

Although she did not elaborate on what led to the breakup, Gomez hinted at trust issues contributing to the split, before adding that honesty is something she seeks in her partner.

"Honesty. You have to have honesty when you're living this lifestyle because of the distance imposed when working—you are separated so often. You have to be super-honest and open. That is key," Gomez told InStyle.

Gomez and Bieber fuelled rumors of patching up following their split in November when the Canadian pop sensation put up a picture on his Instagram page of them hanging out during a Fourth of July party.

He captioned the picture “#heartbreaker.” But, a source close to the couple told E! News that they have not rekindled their romance, adding that they are only trying to maintain a friendship.
