“Sense8” Season 2 left off on a massive cliffhanger that left fans reeling, but they were even more shocked when they learned that the show would not return for Season 3. Netflix canceled the sci-fi drama, but some fans refuse to accept that decision.

In an effort to convince Netflix to renew “Sense8,” fans have been organizing Twitter campaigns. Each morning at 9 a.m. PDT, they plan to tweet the streaming platform and will attempt to trend hashtags including #renewsense8 and #bringbacksense8. There are even themes for each day based on quotes from the series.

Fans are also petitioning Netflix to bring the show back. Within three days, over 375,000 supporters have signed a Change.org petition to revive the sci-fi drama, which followed eight individuals around the world who are psychically linked. A Buenos Aires group called THE GANGSense8 FANS started the plea.

This isn’t the beginning of fans pleading with Netflix, though. Last week, actor Brian J. Smith, who played Will, encouraged fans to show their support for “Sense8.” “This might be a good time to start making some noise,” he wrote. He retweeted a message telling fans to tweet the hashtag #renewsense8.

The early campaign didn’t seem to affect the outcome. Netflix canceled the show two days later on June 1.

Smith has commended the viewers for their efforts, but he said that it all comes down to how many people are tuning in and how expensive the production is (“Sense8” filmed in 13 different countries over the course of 23 epsiodes). “You all are putting up an incredible fight. We hear you and it’s so moving. But not enough people watched the show and it’s $$$ to produce,” he wrote.

For the most part, the cast seems to share the sentiment of the fans. Freema Ageyman, who played Amanita, took to Twitter to share her feelings. “We are all heartbroken. This show was the DEFINITION of global, equal, groundbreaking, diverse. TV at its most representational & inclusive,” she wrote. “I am deeply proud & overjoyed to have been part of one of the most brave & beautiful pieces of art in history!”

She also thanked the fans for their efforts. “Dear @Sense8 fans. Thank you. Your support & enthusiasm has been, & still is, off the scale! And we feel you!! What an incredible journey!!” the “Doctor Who” alum added.

“Sense8” did not have a satisfying ending. After Wolfgang (Max Riemelt) was kidnapped by, the sensates finally met up in London. They captured both Whispers (Terrence Mann) and Jonah (Naveen Andrews) in retaliation, but that’s where the show ended.

Netflix made the decision to cancel the show less than a month after Season 2 was released. “After 23 episodes, 16 cities and 13 countries, the story of the Sense8 cluster is coming to an end,” Netflix’s Vice President of Original Content Cindy Holland said in a statement. “Never has there been a more truly global show with an equally diverse and international cast and crew, which is only mirrored by the connected community of deeply passionate fans all around the world. We thank Lana, Lilly, Joe and Grant for their vision, and the entire cast and crew for their craftsmanship and commitment.”
