‘Shadowhunters’ Season 2 Spoilers: How Will The Institute Prevent A Downworlder Uprising In Episode 12?

“Shadowhunters” Season 2, episode 12 will focus on the Institute trying to figure out a way to stop the deaths of even more Shadowhunters.

In “You Are Not Your Own,” the Institute will turn to controversial methods to prevent a Downworlder uprising. In the promo released by Freeform for episode 12, Magnus Bane’s (Harry Shum Jr.) spirit is placed inside Valentine’s (Alan Van Sprang) body to send a message to the Shadowhunters.

However, no one believes the villainous character when he says he is talking on behalf of Magnus and that Valentine’s body is just an instrument to make this happen. When Magnus tries to urge his peers to believe him, no one does, and he gets into a fight while inside Valentine’s body.

Also in the clip, Alec (Matthew Daddario) tells Jace (Dominic Sherwood) that he feels Valentine is telling them the truth. However, the latter reminds Alec that he shouldn’t fall for his lies. As of late, it is still unclear if Magnus’ attempt at sending a message to the Shadowhunters will be successful.

Meanwhile, Freeform also dropped a sneak peek ahead of Monday night’s episode where Jace attempts to kill Clary (Katherine McNamara). In the short clip, the two characters first show off their fighting skills. They also seem to flirt with each other. But when Clary turns her back to pick up her sword, the marking on Jace’s arm starts to light up. The latter then tries to attack Clary.

In another sneak peek, Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) introduces a man named Sebastian (Will Tudor) to her friends and tells them that the latter saved her life. Jace and Alec shake Sebastian’s hand and introduce themselves. He also shakes Clary’s hand and starts flirting with her.

This could be a cause for concern for Clary and Jace since the two have feelings for each other. Initially, Clary thought that she was related to Jace, and this prevented her from acting on her feelings towards him.

While speaking with TV Line, cast member Isaiah Mustafa said that he wants Clary to be true to her heart regardless of whether she wants to be with Jace or Simon (Alberto Rosende).
