"Shark Tank" star Barbara Corcoran seems to be quite lucky when it comes to making deals on the popular ABC reality show. However, on Wednesday, she realized that she had been the victim of an expensive phishing scam.

According to TMZ, the person responsible for the theft had used a tiny typo to their advantage as they worked to steal thousands of dollars from the real estate mogul.

A week earlier, an email chain had been forwarded to the TV personality's bookkeeper, a woman called Christine. At the time, it appeared as though the message had come from Corcoran's assistant, Emily. The content of the email informed the bookkeeper that they needed to pay a company called FFH Concept GmbH in Germany $388,700.11.

While Christine did ask questions, such as what the money was for, she received plausible answers as the thieves capitalized on small changes that went unnoticed. "The detail that no one caught was that my assistant's email address was misspelled by one letter, making it the fake email address set up by the scammers," Corcoran said, according to People.

The thieves had also used a real company name, which made the team believe that the invoice was legitimate.

Ultimately, the money was sent, but shortly thereafter, Emily realized that the scam had taken place. This was due to the fact that she noticed that her address had been altered. Following the realization, the "Shark Tank" star's IT team was able to trace the original emails back to a Chinese IP address. Moving forward, her attorneys are looking at what to do next.

As for whether or not she believes she will ever see the money again, she stated that she didn't feel that she would.

However, the investor did share on Twitter that she had learned a lesson, which can be seen below.

Corcoran, along with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, "Queen of QVC" Lori Greiner, businessman Robert Herjavec, entrepreneur Kevin O'Leary, and others will return from their midseason hiatus when Season 11 of "Shark Tank" resumes on Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
